We digitized Freedom, from issue #1, October, 1886, to #446, November-December, 1927. These documents were loaned to us from a collection archived at CIRA-Lausanne, whom we would like to thank warmly. We also thank the entire team for their unfailing confidence in us over the years.
The digitized documents are intended to complement those already available on the Internet. Unfortunately, there are significant gaps in the CIRA-Lausanne collection for the first few years. The numbers only become consecutive starting with issue #50 dated January, 1891, although with a few gaps here and there. In all, 397 issues out of a total of 446 for the entire period are now available for consultation.
We suggest that readers visit the Sparrows’ Nest Library and Archive to consult the missing issues.
For the years from 1927 on, readers may want to visit the following sites:
We would also remind our readers that we have digitized an almost complete collection of the War Commentarynewspaper for the period 1939-1945, which is at last available online. See the summaries.
